About Us

At the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we work to improve health and adult social care in England.

Through the dedication of our expert team, we monitor health and social care services to provide England with a safe and compassionate care system, recognising when services perform well, as well as encouraging improvements and taking action over poorer care, where necessary.

One of our main commitments is to become a truly inclusive organisation and to role model a diverse and representative culture. To do so, we work with a variety of networks, including the Disability Equality Network, Race Equality Network and LGBT+ Equality Network.

The Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigation (MNSI) Programme is part of a national strategy to improve maternity across the NHS in England and was moved to be hosted by the CQC on the 1st of October 2023.

The programme is part of the overall national ambition to improve maternity safety and reduce harm by 50% by 2025. The programme was fully rolled out across England by April 2019 and, in 2022, a commitment was made to continue the programme for a further five years and there are currently three years of this term remaining.

Were now looking for Maternity Investigators to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. Part-time hours will be considered.
