About the role
As our E-Commerce Buyer, you will be responsible for the identification, sourcing, management and sales performance of designated product lines to help deliver to the E-Commerce growth plan.
The E-Commerce Buyer will be responsible for:
Identifying new product / category opportunities to reflect and take advantage of future trends through consumer and market analysis
Discovering & highlighting the most appropriate brands on the market particular in core outdoor activity markets of hiking and camping to bring in products that complement our current product portfolio
Source and securing product lines ensuring the best value and quality for OS customers, with a key focus on sustainability
Managing existing product categories to achieve in plan targets
Working with Physical Product managers to create innovative and sustainable products within the outdoor industry that are customer segment relevant
Developing new proposition ideas for each customer mindset
Working in the E-Commerce team to ensure designated product categories are featured in the best way to maximise sales opportunities
Collaborating with designers to bring initial product concepts to life and to provide users with tangible propositions to give feedback on
Collaborating with Marketing on the products positioning for each mindset to maximise sales
Reviewing packaging propositions and understand how these impact buying behaviour
Reviewing product lines and build and refine as necessary
What were looking for:
Secondary level education, or relevant experience
Up to date knowledge of target customer segments, market channels and relevant product lines
Relationships with key brands in the outdoor industry, particularly among clothing, hiking and camping for a diverse audience base
Experience of sourcing, reviewing and management of product lines in a relevant outdoor focused commercial business
Experience in Open-to-Buy, budgeting and sales forecasting
An empathetic and inclusive perspective on the outdoor market with a keen eye for sustainability and different customer mindsets and situations

Location: This role would normally be based at our state of the art Headquarters in Southampton, however in accordance with Government guidelines, OS are supporting our teams with Working From Home. It is anticipated that a hybrid approach to office / WFH will be adopted in the future. Consideration will be given for the right candidate to work remotely (occasional travel to Explorer House will be required as necessary to support projects).
