Phoenix Group is building a thriving and growing open business.  Bulk Purchase Annuities (BPA) has been identified as a key driver of this growth. To achieve this, we are seeking a BPA Transition Manager to join our operations team at an exciting time, as we shape our proposition and the way we work to support our growth ambition.

The primary focus of this role will be to manage the successful onboarding of new transactions in line with the Groups strategic operating model, supported by BPA Operations Analysts and reporting to the management team. A combination of subject matter expertise and project management skills are the core skills required for this role.  The ideal candidate will also have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with and influence a variety of stakeholders across the business and externally.

 Key Responsibilities

 

To manage the onboarding and integration of new transactions in line with the Groups strategic operating model and contractual obligations, ensuring adherence to agreed standards and resolving or escalating issues where needed.

To manage the transition from buy-in to buy-out for existing BPA clients.

To ensure that the Group manages BPA transactions in line with its contractual obligations.

To support the delivery of key strategic projects in the bulk annuity space and development of new capabilities.

To manage the Groups ongoing relationship with the schemes trustees and advisers, agreeing timescales and being the key channel of communication.

Day to day oversight of the Groups administration partners.

To provide regular reporting and MI to the management team.

To support co-ordination of internal and external resources.

To identify and mitigate risk within the BPA function.

What Were Looking For

 

Essential 

Knowledge of defined benefit pensions and relevant regulations.

Excellent project management, planning and organising skills.

Track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships and to influence stakeholders.

Experience of managing external relationships professionally and with commercial awareness.

Demonstrable ability to find and implement solutions to problems or improvements to existing processes.

Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Desirable

Experience of the bulk purchase annuity market.

Project management and/or PMI qualifications.
