Salary £18,200 to £18,450 pa rising to £19,200 through length of service

From £9.31 per hour if youd prefer to work on a casual basis

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers, who have multiple and complex support needs including mental health, substance misuse and offending.

They live in tenancies within a 24-hour staffed building, throughout the community of North Tyneside.

We help our customers address their support needs and work towards independence.

As our Waking Nights Support Worker, youll be a part of a small night working team. Youll offer our customers a first point of call when needed. Youll also make sure all records are up to date, auditing customer files, safeguarding the building and carrying out some light cleaning duties.

About our team

Although youll work nights, we do get together regularly in the daytime for training and team meetings. Youll be part of our wider team, who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team were a €œwork family€. Our managers are Rob and Elaine, who have worked for Home Group for a number of years. There are 17 of us in the team and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too! 

Working hours - 

We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. Youll work on a rota basis and take your turn working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank.  You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

About you

Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

We help change our customers lives for the better. Youll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. Youll work with our Senior Support Workers and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together well make a difference!

As our Waking Nights Support Worker, youll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our services.  You will ensure the safety and securing of our buildings and of our customers, and make sure we get on with our neighbours!

Youll get involved in lots of different activities which will include monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to. As our Waking Nights Support Worker, youll also be the first point of contact for our clients and at times well also need you to do some general cleaning duties too.

To keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

To make sure our customers are well supported, its important that you have worked in a supported housing environment before. Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
