Plus brilliant benefits!

Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. Thats when it hits home!

At Home Group its critical we continue to deliver services for our customers during the COVID-19 outbreak, and our awesome colleagues are at the very heart of making that happen. We need Brilliant People like you to join us (and not just during this challenging time). We are doing things a little differently for the moment, so to keep you, our customers and ourselves safe well engage with you digitally where possible.

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers, who can be challenging and volatile at times, but are hugely rewarding to work with! Our customers are young people at risk of homelessness, who are aged between 16 and 25, and almost 80% of them have mental health diagnosis. We help them in the areas of emotional and practical support, advice and advocacy.

Our customers live in a large building in the city centre of Newcastle. They live in one of our 52 single person en-suite bedrooms (that are fully furnished) and share communal living facilities and kitchens. We also have a common room, where we provide a calendar of regular activities and a courtyard, which our customers can use when they want. We also have 20 fully furnished, self-contained flats, each with a bedroom, a living room and a kitchen, where some of our customers live.

We help our customers to change their lives and support them to work towards achieving their aspirations. We deliver the support that has been identified, in the individual plans, that have been created in partnership with our Support Coordinators and customers. What we can tell you is that each day is totally different, so if youre looking for a calm stable role, then this is not the job for you!

If you thrive on a challenge, where each day is different, where you can influence a young person to make lasting changes to their lives, then keep reading! One day you might be cooking with a customer and supporting them to shop on a budget or prepare healthy meals, the next you might be supporting them at a probation or substance abuse support meeting.

Youll work in partnership with our external partners and with your Home Group colleagues assess and engage support for your customers. Together youll really make a difference, and work towards helping your customers successfully move on with a positive future.

About our team

Youll be working with our fabulous team, who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team were a €œbig work family€. There are about 30 of us all together in the team, some have been at Home Group a long time and others are new to the role, like you will be! The great news is that you will be supported by a great team of managers (Stacey, Emma, Kerry and Alex), who dont just love to support our customers, but make sure that we are there for each other too! In each of our offices we have a team €œHappy Jar€, well explain to you how that works when you join us!

Working hours

Youll work on a rota basis between the hours of 8am and 8pm, these are full 12-hour shifts and include working weekends. What that means is that while your working day is a long one, you do get at least 3 days off per week and 2 weekends off per month! We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but in return we aim to give you the time you need to spend it on doing the things that matter to you, be it your childs school play, your partners graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered!

About you

Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

We help change our customers lives for the better. Youll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. Youll work with our Senior Support Workers and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together well make a difference!

To keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however its your €œcan do€ positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
