Art Teacher job in Kings Heath, Birmingham, £140-£200, long-term supply

Your new school
The Secondary School based in South Birmingham are looking for an Art Teacher to join their enthusiastic and supportive department. The school has a strong focus on student life, with various clubs, sports, and leadership opportunities. In 2023, the school announced its plan to become a co-educational school with effect from September 2024.

Your new job
As this is a long-term role, you will be required to:

  • Plan and prepare Art lessons for pupils in KS3 and KS4 (potentially KS5 dependent on experience)
  • Complete the marking and assessment of pupils' work, along with being involved with facility and department meetings.
  • You will deliver these lessons in a positive learning environment, ensuring all pupils are progressing consistently and achieving target grades.
  • Have a focus on keeping high expectations of students' attainment and behaviour.

  • What you'll need to succeed
    To be successful in securing this position, you must:
  • Possess Qualified Teacher Status or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status
  • Experience of teaching Art within a secondary school is essential. ECT's with placement experience will be considered.
  • You will possess excellent behaviour management skills.
  • You will be keen to work as part of a team, share ideas and good practice.
  • You will be available to start asap and continue on a long-term basis.
