About Home Groups Apprenticeships

Our award-winning apprenticeship programme has been designed to get our customers on the career ladder! (How awesome is that!) The great news is that you can be any age to apply, and we pay our apprentices a fair wage! Our apprentices love the fact that they have more cash in their pockets!

Youll be employed for fixed term of 15 months and during that time, youll gain lots of practical skills and experience. Youll step into this role at level 3 (equivalent to A-levels) and be supported to gain an industry recognised qualification. Lots of Home Group Apprentices even secure permanent roles with us, building their futures!

About the role

This is a super exciting time to join our Development team whose strategic priority is to build, rent and sell 10,000 new homes over the next five years. Youll be working directly with the Aftercare Team that directly helps our customers who will rent or buy these sparkly new homes. How awesome is that!

Youll be learning the ropes (and well love teaching you) about how we manage defects and our Aftercare service, following the build and sale of our homes. You might visit sites that were building on, see homes develop and grow and you will have the opportunity to work shadow some of the teams within the Development side of the business.  This will give a great insight into what we do and how we do it.  

Your specific role will be to work closely with a team that manages all of our new build properties after they have been handed over to customers right through to the end of the defects liability period (or put more simply, the end of the aftercare period when we make sure customers are 100% happy with the home they have bought).  Wow!  What an amazing opportunity to build a career via an apprenticeship in a customer services role in which you will learn so much and that delivers limitless progression opportunities if you work hard and do well!

You will report to Cheryl Effiom, our Aftercare Manager, who manages the team in the South. You will also have a €œbuddy mentor€ within the team, someone who does a similar role, who will offer additional guidance and support. Well make sure you develop a wide range of skills across the entire aftercare function in no time! We are a close working team who take pride in our focus to deliver excellent customer service and defect management.

Working hours

As you develop your skills, and get to know us, our customers and the business, its really important that you are at work when your colleagues are around to support and guide you. This means that you will work between the hours of 9am -5pm Monday to Friday, the good news is that you will never be expected to work alone!

Youll be working, amongst loads of people passionate focused on customer service.  The North Aftercare Team is led by Joanne and our South team by Cheryl - our Lead Aftercare Managers who are keen to support their teams as they push standards of service to the very highest levels.   The wider team is overseen by Joy and Joe.  Joe is our Head of Delivery in the South and is passionate about delivering the highest quality homes for our customers though brilliant design and quality.  Joes interest in buildings started when he was a kid through watching his dad and granddad (both architects) at their drawing boards, talking about their latest designs.
