The role

We have a great opportunity for an experienced, expert pricing analyst or data scientist  to lead or rescue pricing team in Bromley on a full time permanent basis.  

Who youll be working with:

Green Flag are going through a huge transformation to become a motorist brand, building new policy and rescue systems, with advanced data and pricing platforms, that utilise machine learning.

At the same time, our Linked Rescue brands are going live on the Best 4 Customer platform, bringing enhanced rating capability.

What youll be doing:

This role will lead the development of Rescue Pricing capability, delivering a step change in pricing, utilising both pricing experience and analytical skills.  The role will include delivering design and building of pricing models, monitoring, learning and iterating to support Commercial objectives. This will include:

Working in an Agile organisation, understand and work within the practices, ceremonies and methodologies required to successfully deliver squad/team goals in a culture that strives for high performance.

Lead and drive the building of pricing models, within the team to enable Rescue to take advantage of the new systems capability. 

Where appropriate develop data science techniques and their use within the team, liaising with other data science communities within DLG for shared learnings.

Mentor and sometimes direct the work of other team members, especially more junior members

Design tactical and strategic data and MI dashboards to enhance understanding of Commercial performance and enabling iteration of pricing models.

Lead pricing build on key initiatives, such as modular or short-term products, or new products to market.

Clear and actionable insight through advanced analysis and interpretation of multiple complex data sets, as required across the Rescue Pricing function, and enabling use of internal DLG data or external data to enhance risk or margin modelling, where appropriate.

Represent Rescue Pricing at trading meetings, influencing trading decisions and ensuring stakeholder management within the Rescue Commercial Team.

Liaise with the Motor Pricing teams to ensure knowledge share of expected Pricing actions between the teams, particularly for Linked products.

Recommending appropriate model or price changes that take account of customer needs and risk management requirements to most appropriately trade to targets.

What we are looking for:

Previous experience leading or mentoring a team within a similar pricing / data sciene role within the financial services industry.

Maths & Statistics: Skilled at modelling complex business problems and making predictions about future events. Capable of modelling and creating solutions for business challenges using linear algebra, calculus, frequentist and/or bayesian statistics.

Machine Learning: Able to build and code models using languages and packages such as Python, and the ability to use model selection techniques for model accuracy. Familiarity with building traditional insurance models, such as GLMs.

Model optimisation: feature selection, feature engineering and hyperparameter tuning.

Data management, preparation and analysis: Able to query, prepare and analyse data in structured methods a range of databases, notably SQL.

Data Visualisation: Such as AWS QuickSight, Tableau.
