What we are looking for:

Do you possess a consistent track record of privacy experience, ideally within an Agile environment? Can you demonstrate that you have a detailed working knowledge of key Privacy legislation and regulation including DPA (Data Protection Act), e-Privacy directive and GDPR alongside superb interpersonal and stakeholder management skills?

Direct Line Group are seeking an experienced Senior Privacy and Information Management (PIM) Manager to provide PIM advice and guidance to all areas of Direct Line Group in relation to the delivery and development of products, projects, platforms and technologies. The position is well suited to an individual who is keen to stretch themselves and delve into new and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and data ethics.

Who you'll be working with:

The role reports directly to the Head of PIM. Youll utilise your experience and mentoring skills to work with and support the wider PIM team, and will also work closely with senior colleagues across the business, including Marketing and Data (looking at Privacy and ethics requirements for AI and Machine Learning).

We would like you to use your experience and solid understanding of privacy principles, standards, practices and technologies to help us set up our data ethics, frameworks and privacy strategy. In doing so you will help us to make quick, sound and pragmatic decisions that align with our business strategy and help us grow our infrastructure, whilst enabling us to achieve our purpose - to sustainably optimise the value DLG gets from technology.

What you'll be doing:

Providing subject matter expert policy advice and guidance to the business, with a focus on EU GDPR, DPA, Privacy & Electronic Communication Regulations, e-Privacy Directive, international data protection guidance and associated matters, ensuring the provision of timely business focused solutions.

Working with business areas to define privacy requirements and embed them to build privacy by design.

Integrating data privacy into direct marketing practices (including email marketing, telemarketing and behavioural advertising).

Working with the business to develop, implement and embed a data ethics framework with appropriate controls and cultural approach.

Maintaining appropriate levels of personal SME and mentoring, coaching and actively supporting the wider team in their technical and personal development.

Required Skills:

Detailed working knowledge of Key Privacy legislation and regulation with a consistent record of implementing practical solutions to privacy requirements.

Ability to understand how data flows through systems, with experience of embedding privacy by design and default within new and legacy technology.

Experience of ethics and/or AI, Machine Learning, Data Strategy with a keenness to learn more about the field and how it impacts privacy.

Good grasp of system architecture and the ability to understand how data flows though systems

Privacy certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, PC.dp, ISEB in Data protection or equivalent by a recognised professional.
