Yeovil, Somerset

Permanent, Full Time 37.5 hpw

Salary £19,000 to £19,400 pa rising to £24,000 through length of service Plus brilliant benefits!

We need Brilliant People like you to join us (and not just during this challenging time). We are doing things a little differently at the moment, so to keep you, our customers and ourselves safe well engage with you digitally where possible. 

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team based in Yeovil, The Link Wellbeing and Support Services provide support to customers, who are homeless or who have experienced homelessness.

We support our customers to build their own personal resilience, improve lifestyle choices and prepare for independence by building on their own individual skills.

You will be the Lead Support Worker for a new 8 bed supported accommodation service in Yeovil. You will be supporting customers to transition into the accommodation, during their stay and providing support to customers moving on from the service. Day to day this could include supporting customers with maintaining their accommodation, managing domestic tasks, managing their finances and budgeting, accessing employment, education and training, as well as attending health appointments so no two working days are ever the same!

Our aim is to deliver long-term positive solutions for the people we work with and measure our success not by the number of people we support, but through the positive outcomes they achieve.

About our team

Youll be working alongside our fabulous team of Health Coaches, HAP Coordinators, a Hospital Discharge Coordinator and established volunteers, who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements.€ Were there for each other too!€

Working hours

As a team were critical to supporting our customers. This means your typical working hours will be 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The good news is that you will have a degree of flexibility, as its the teams unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life. So, whether its your childs school play, your partners graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered well work with you in what matters. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

About you

Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

We help change our customers lives for the better. Youll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. Youll work with our established Health Coach, our tenancy accreditation team, our housing managers and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together well make a difference! To keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

To make sure our customers are well supported, its important that you have worked in this environment before. Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
