Environmental Specialist 18-month fixed term contract
About the Role
The environment, and living and working sustainably, is at the centre of Ordnance Surveys plans. We are committed to reducing our own environmental impact and proactively exploring opportunities to ensure we are a continuing to monitor, review and work across the organisation and with our 3rd party partners to look at ways in which building efficiencies can be achieved by changes to things like our infrastructure and utility usage as an example.
We are now looking for a self-starter to join us as an Environmental Specialist who will be hands on in supporting and delivering the broader environmental strategy where there will be a requirement on engaging stakeholders across the organisation on the subject of environment and sustainability to engage and encourage all of our employees to have greater awareness.
This new role provides an exciting opportunity to join us and to help shape and drive our future strategy in this vital area of work where youll sit as part the current Health & Safety, Facilities and Sustainability team within our HR function.
What were looking for:
A strong knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues
Previous experience or involvement in the delivery of an ISO accreditation
Excellent stakeholder management skills
A good communicator, with strong interpersonal skills
Enthusiastic and motivated to achieve results
Analytical with the ability to manage core projects within our environmental strategy

Location: This role will be based at our state-of-the-art Headquarters in Southampton. However, all our people, where they can are currently working from home.
