At Home Group its critical we continue to deliver services for our customers during the COVID-19 outbreak, and our awesome colleagues are at the very heart of making that happen. We need Brilliant People like you to join us (and not just during this challenging time). We are doing things a little differently at the moment, so to keep you, our customers and ourselves safe well engage with you digitally where possible.

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team in our sparkly service based in beautiful Launceston. Part of your work would also be at our new service in Bude. We support our brilliant customers, who have a variety of support needs anything from mental health to alcohol or drug use, acquired brain injury to hoarding.

Our customers live in Launceston in a large Victorian 5 flat property and an onsite-office, or in the community in East and North Cornwall receiving outreach support. Our Bude service consists of 6 self-contained flats in a purpose-built property right on the beach!

We help our customers with independent living skills and self-management of health and wellbeing. This could include supporting customers with maintaining their accommodation, managing domestic tasks, managing their finances and budgeting, accessing employment, education and training, and attending health appointments so no two working days are ever the same!

About our team

Youll be working alongside our fabulous team, who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements.

To us were not just a team were a €œwork family€. Our manager is Gareth, who has been with Home Group for 12 years. Gareths little sidekick is his Jackapoo Dolly and they can often be found hiking around the beautiful south coast of Cornwall together, especially on the beach! There are 9 of us in the team and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too! Among the team, youll be joining Lesley whos been with us around a year and a half, whos also a dog-owner and loves her holidays in the sun. There is also a new colleague joining us so you wont be the only newbie!

Working hours

Youll work on a rota basis between the hours of 9am 5pm and take your turn working to cover both services. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

About you

Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.  You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

Youll help change our customers lives (and our services) for the better by working with the Support Coordinator on risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. Each support plan will look to meet our customers individual needs and aspirations, making sure they meet safeguarding and confidentiality requirements.

Youll also have responsibility for working collaboratively with external agencies, to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together well make a difference! To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

To make sure our customers are well supported, its important that you have worked in a supported housing, outreach support or a similar role before. Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help you to understand how things work at Home Group!

As this is a community-based role and you will be undertaking some outreach work, youll need to travel around to spend time with your customers. You could do this role using public transport, or if you drive and have access to a car that would also be amazing! We pay your expenses to cover this use!

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
