Youll be supporting our amazing customers as part of our flexible bank, picking and choosing the shifts you want to work.

Youll be joining our Transforming Care team on our flexible bank, supporting our brilliant customers to live a fulfilling life in their own home within the local community.  Our team support our customers who have complex presentations, which may include, learning disabilities, mental health issues, autism and communication differences, alongside ongoing physical health conditions. They may also have a forensic background and potential to display behaviours of concern.

Where youll work

With flexibility in the hours and days that you want to work, youll work primarily with our one female customer in her own home in Rainham, as well as supporting her in the community. But there will also be opportunities to work with our other customers in Kent! 

The customer that you will be supporting is a women with a wide range of interests and a caring nature.  Her family is very important to her and she just loves spending time with them.  She also has a big love of fashion and clothes, likes to be well dressed as well as clean and tidy both in herself and in her home.  She absolutely loves pamper sessions (so if you like them too, youll really get along).  She would love to own a pet; a cat, fish and turtle are on her wish list (we wonder which one shell get first?).  Youll work alongside our Occupational Therapist to find innovative ways for her to participate in daily living activities aimed at increasing her independence.

There is lots for you to do and get involved in, from supporting her to achieve her hopes and aspirations, working to bespoke care plans. Youll go home each day knowing that youve made an amazing difference, how amazing is that! One day you might be helping her manage her finances so she can budget to buy some new shoes she has her eye on, another day carry out household tasks before inviting family over for tea.  Some of our customers also have more complex needs which may include support with personal care such as bathing.

How it works

Working on our bank, youll be able to pick and choose your shifts that you can work from those available in your area. You can do this on the go via your mobile!

About our team

Youll be working alongside our fabulous team of PBS Support Workers, PBS Team Leaders and Clinical colleagues who are super passionate about supporting our customer to reach his goals and celebrate his achievements.  Our team is headed up by Kerry, our Clinical Registered Manager has loads of experience from working in the NHS and outside of work youll find her spending her free time taking walks along the beach or on her love for horses.  Lucy, our Deputy Manager, has worked with people with learning disabilities and those who communicate differently for over ten years, and shes also a keen rugby player!  Youll also work alongside Antonietta our Clinical Psychologist, who will regularly run wellbeing sessions for the team, and Wesley our Occupational Therapist.   

About you

Youll be flexible to work at short notice, as youll be the one picking your next shift working hours that fit around your current commitments. The great news is that youll be gaining loads of experience working with our brilliant colleagues and customers. 

Its important that you have worked in a similar role in a supported housing environment before, are willing to provide personal care and have experience of helping customers to reach their full potential. Youll have a great understanding of professional boundaries, risk assessments and supporting your customers to enjoy the best possible quality of life.  Ideally, youll have experience of helping people that display behaviours of concern and hold a level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care or equivalent.  It would be great if you have some previous experience of positive behaviour support, but its not a deal breaker. 

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.

Our pay rates are based on Living Wage Foundation rate which means youll be paid a fair hourly rate for every hour that you work and your rate even includes a payment towards your holiday pay!
