Regional Clinician (Positive Behavioural Support)

Permanent

Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Salary £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience, skills and qualifications) plus mileage for travel

Home based but covering the South region (currently including Birmingham, Swindon and Hertfordshire).

As Regional Clinician in our Transforming Care team, youll provide specialist Positive Behavioural Support to our customers across the region, equipping our operational teams to deliver support that enables our customers to live a fulfilling life in their own home within the local community.  Together, youll be supporting our customers who have complex support needs, including learning disabilities, autism, a diagnosis of mental health conditions, personality disorders, communication differences, alongside ongoing physical health conditions. They may also have a forensic background and support needs related to their behaviour.    

 

This is an exciting, brand new role which youll really get to shape and make your own.  As our PBS specialist youll be leading on functional behavioural assessments, PBS plans and interventions, working collaboratively with our customers, their families, clinical and operational colleagues.  Youll use your experience and brilliant skills to ensure all practice is evidence based and person led, providing clinical advice to your colleagues on the day to day support required as well as overseeing complex support.  Youll advance colleagues knowledge and practice on PBS and risk management, enabling support to be delivered which ensures safety, promotes recovery, wellbeing and maximises independence.  Youll also ensure our exciting new LIFE support practice model (Living Independently and Feeling Enabled) is delivered in a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led way.  Well tell you all about it when we meet you! 

 

Youll report to Karen, our Head of Transforming Care who has recently joined us bringing a wealth of experience from her clinical and operational roles working across the NHS, Social Care and private sector.  She is passionate about Transforming Care, delivering a robust and balanced offer to our customers, families and commissioners.  Shes also a dual registered nurse and qualified in Applied Behavioural Analysis.  Outside of work youll find her keeping fit in dance aerobics classes, singing in a choir (which shes just recently joined) and discussing the latest book as a member of a book club (we wonder what theyre reading at the moment?). Your clinical supervision will be provided by Alison, our Clinical Expert PBS who is passionate about supporting vulnerable people to have the same opportunities as others, regardless of their abilities or support needs.  Outside of work, youll find her running with her lovely border collie Albie, baking and gardening (she just needs the sunshine to return now!).

Where youll work

Youll be supporting our customers from their own homes throughout the south region, which currently includes Birmingham, Swindon and Hertfordshire.  You can be based from home, but there is the requirement for frequent travel to support our customers and colleagues, with further locations as we work with more customers.

 

A bit about you

It goes without saying that youll be an experienced PBS specialist, with a professional qualification/degree level learning in Learning Disability, Mental Health, autism, psychology or other health and social care.  Youll also have a post-graduate qualification in PBS/Applied Behaviour Analysis or be a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) or equivalent.  Youll be experienced in working with a wide variety of customers with complex needs including learning disabilities, mental health, autistic spectrum condition, and forensic presentation. Youll be brilliant at supporting and unleashing the potential of operational teams to work with people who may use distressing behaviours, through effective delivery of PBS, sound management of risk, active support and skills development

 

You must be able to drive and have access to a car for work as you'll be required to travel and work within your region. 

 

An Enhanced Disclosure Check will also be required for this role and the costs of this will be met by us.
