About the role: Join our team as Support Engineer and work on supporting and maintaining some of our business key systems. An important aspect of this role is continuous improvement to ensure our systems remain, secure, supported, current and continue to meet business requirements in line with our strategic objectives. You will have the opportunity to influence and shape our maintenance roadmaps.You will have the opportunity to apply your experience in software engineering, support and maintenance to help us create secure, scalable, performant systems that are easy to maintain and support. Experience around Deployment, Debugging, Testing, Scaling and Monitoring modern cloud-based systems will be beneficial. As part of the role you will be required to: Provide expert technical consultancy to enable the business to successfully use IT systems Continually identify and implement support process improvements, including automating deployments Proactively safeguard services by continually assessing and improving monitoring, resilience and security Investigate the root cause of failures to understand why they have occurred and propose/enact solutions, and work with external suppliers where required Provide consultancy to Project Teams on the performance, configuration and functionality of existing systems, and ensure that new or updated systems will be effectively supported Mentor, teach and support the technical knowledge and skills of the teamWhat were looking for: If youre interested in joining a team that lies at the heart of what OS is about, were looking for an individual that can demonstrate skills and experience in: One or more programming languages C#, Python, Ruby Oracle SQL Software engineering best practice Microsoft Azure technologies (desirable) Experience Geospatial technologies - ESRI, FME (desirable) The rewards: We want you to love what you do.
