Job Description

CQC Supported Living Worker
Hartlepool, Cleveland
Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)
Salary £18,200 - £18,450
Plus brilliant benefits!

Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. Thats when it hits home!

At Home Group its critical we continue to deliver services for our customers during the COVID-19 outbreak, and our awesome colleagues are at the very heart of making that happen. We need Brilliant People like you to join us (and not just during this challenging time). We are doing things a little differently at the moment, so to keep you, our customers and ourselves safe well engage with you digitally where possible.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our recently refurbished and very homely (if we do say so ourselves) accommodation based registered CQC Service in Hartlepool.

Our service supports adult customers, who have learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues, supporting them to achieve their long term goals and live their best lives. How brilliant is that!

Youll be based from our building on Gainford Street, which has some beautiful communal areas, a sensory chill out room and big bi-fold doors leading out to a tendered garden, where we grow our own veg. Plus were in easy reach of local amenities (theres a Domino Pizza next door and Costa Coffee across the road, but dont blame us for an increasing waistline!) and Hartlepool is nearby on public transport or by car.

Your role
Youll be supporting our customers to live their day to day lives as independently as possible, helping with everyday activities, including daily living tasks, health, emotional and behavioural support. Youll also be required to help customers, who have more complex needs, which will include personal care.

Youll find that no two days are the same because everything we do is €œperson centred€ around our customers. So you might be helping with personal care (like bathing and issuing medication) in the morning, supporting to cook their lunch and attending sports activities in the afternoon. We even help customers to go on holiday!

Youll assist in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, ensuring at all times every customer feels valued, respected and that their dignity is maintained.  Youll also work closely with our Supported Living Coordinators and External Agencies to support our customers.

Stacey is our Registered Manager, who has worked for Home Group for 9 years and has a wealth of experience.  Outside of work youll find Stacey at gigs, watching anything to do with true crime (in her next life shes going to be a Detective) and consuming a bit too much gin and pizza (see were not to blame for the waistline!).

Youll be reporting to Lesley our Deputy Manager, who loves nothing more than attending every gig she can and is known for playing her music very loudly (too loudly some might say!) in her car on the way to and from work. Lesley loves animals and would turn the garden at the service into a farm if she could!

Youll be part of our fabulous team, who love to share ideas on how best to support our customers over a slice of cake and biscuits. Youll find them on a Friday morning taking part in dance lessons with our customers, getting the blood pumping and endorphins flowing ready for the weekend!€

Working hours
We provide 24-hour support to our customers, so youll work on a rota basis, normally 7.30 am to 10.30 pm, taking your turn to work days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays as well as sleep in shifts. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but in return well give you the time you need to spend it doing the things that matter to you!

Bank
Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments, or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

About you
Youll have a positive can do attitude and buzzing to help us make a big impact on our customers lives and shape our brilliant service. Your empathy will really shine through, as will your ability to empower customers to reach their full potential.

To make sure our customers are well supported, its important that you have worked in a supported housing environment before. You have a great understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding, risk assessment, confidentiality, case management and providing personal care.

Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well nurture your talent, help you understand how things work at Home Group and youll have a fantastic induction with ongoing learning and support!

Youll ideally hold a Level 2 certificate, equivalent in Health and Social Care. To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!).

So if care and support is more than just a job for you and you can make every customer feel valued and respected, then we would love to hear from you.

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
