Job Description

Help us to shape health and social care policy

The King’s Fund is a leading charity that helps to shape policy and transform services to improve health and social care in England.

Salary: £35,253 - £42,096 per annum

The post is full time but we would consider more flexible working options (working a minimum of 4 days per week)

Central London

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced team that sits across the organisation’s Policy and Communications divisions and plays a key role in helping to position The King’s Fund effectively in the external environment and maintain its position as the leading independent commentator on health and social care. The team works closely with members of the organisation’s senior management team, including the Chief Executive. This role requires excellent writing, research and analysis skills, as well as in-depth knowledge and experience of scrutinising health and social care policy. Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods and a good knowledge of health and social care policy in England would be an advantage.

The post holder will provide effective and timely analysis of a wide range of complex policy issues, monitoring the external environment to identify key policy developments, and promoting understanding of the health and care system among internal and external audiences. The post holder will also work closely with internal colleagues to ensure the Fund is visible in key policy debates. A key aspect of the role will involve researching and authoring a variety of written products, including short research reports and blogs, for policy-focused audiences.

Here at the Fund, we actively encourage applicants from underrepresented backgrounds, including those from an ethnic minority background, people with disabilities and those who have caring responsibilities. We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge as we recognise that diversity makes us stronger. If you are successful, you’ll be joining an organisation committed to improvement and progress with a wide-ranging and active diversity and inclusion programme which includes reverse mentoring, research on race inequalities in the NHS and participation in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index.
