Job Description

Frontline has achieved significant growth and impact since it was launched in 2013. Now encompassing a c.£20M annual budget and almost 150 employees, the organisation requires a crystal clear, coherent operating model and an increasingly diverse range of capabilities as we launch our new strategy up to 2025.

We need to make sure that we are using all of our resources to help us deliver our overall mission. A key part of this role will be to further develop our operating model the building blocks of the organisation and how they fit together to ensure that we are increasingly effective and sustainable for the future.

You will be responsible for strengthening our operating model in a way the complements our culture of Freedom and Responsibility, ensuring that goals are clearly articulated and understood across the organisation. You will need to be a confident and engaging leader of the Operations directorate, driving collaborative across the organisation and helping to balance the needs of different teams so that we can deliver our ambitious objectives.

The other key part of the role will be helping us make the most of our key resources; from our people to our charitable income. As an ambitious organisation, we need to continually attract and develop the very best talent across a range of disciplines, and we need the data, analysis, systems and technology to maximise our impact and to help us work together effectively in different locations, across different teams and for different audiences.

You will lead a team of 20 with the Finance & Compliance Director, Head of People, IT and Facilities and CRM managers as direct reports. You will hold relationships with trustees, the Department for Education (our main funder) and our 150 employees. Alongside the Chief Programmes Officer (CPO), you will deputise for the CEO when required. Two other post holders have held this role in the past seven years and both have moved on to become charity CEOs.

For this role we are actively seeking applications from black and minority ethnic applicants and those with a disability so that discussions at our senior team level have a wider range of perspectives and to improve the rigour of decision making. We believe that the strongest performing teams have a lot of difference in them and we are actively seeking to diversify and to create a workplace that is welcoming for all, regardless of disability, religious belief, sexuality, gender or ethnicity.
