We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers, who have been homeless or at risk of becoming homeless to improve their independence, health & wellbeing and personal resilience.
Customers live in self-contained one bedroom flats in Whitehaven.
We help our customers to maintain their tenancies, support with budgeting and daily living skills and re-engage with external services.

About our team
Our Manager Dawn is currently busy recruiting to find new colleagues to join our wider team. The greats is, that you wont be the only new kind on the block and will have new colleagues around to support you and learn together. Dawn has worked at Home Group for over 15 years now and is super passionate about the service we provide to the local community. Outside of work Dawn is a keen Allotment holder, and is super passionate about the 5 chickens she keeps there!
Working hours
The team support our customers on a rota basis between the hours of 9am and 7pm Monday to Friday and take their turn to work weekends 10am-1pm and bank holidays.
We are happy to chat with you about how best to structure your part time working hours, but ideally you are looking to work a few days a week. All of our colleagues are flexible to meet the needs of our customers and you need to be flexible also. In return we aim to give you the time you need to spend on doing the things that matter to you!

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.
About you
Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.
We help change our customers lives for the better. Youll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. Youll work with our Senior Support Workers and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together well make a difference!
If youre not the biggest fan of technology, thats not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However were glad to support you, if you need help.
To make sure our customers are well supported, its important that you have worked in a supported housing environment before. Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help you to understand how things work at Home Group!
As this is a community based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Dont worry, well pay you expenses to cover this use!
When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
