Housing Related Support Worker

Easington Homestay

Permanent, Part Time (18.75 hpw)

Salary £17,600 pa rising to £19,200 through length of service, pro rata

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We are a free service supporting customers, who are experiencing housing related issues in the community. 

 

We deliver our support via drop-ins in community venues, floating support (meeting people in their homes) and also group work (presenting ready created packages in a group work setting). 

 

About our team

Youll be working alongside a tremendous colleague team, who are super passionate about supporting our customers to reach their goals and achievements.  To us were not just a team were a €œwork family€. Our manager is Clive Snowball, who has worked at Home Group for over 10 years. You will make up our 9th colleague within the team and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too!  

 

Working hours  

€œYou will be working within the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday Friday€. 

 

About you

We are looking for someone passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. It would be great if you have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

 

We help change our customers lives for the better. Youll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. Youll work with our Senior Support Workers and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together well make a difference!

 

To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of housing related environment before, however its your €œcan do€ positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

 

As this is a community based role, youll need to travel around to spend time with your customers. You could do this role using public transport, or if you drive and have access to a car that would also be amazing! We pay your expenses to cover this use!

 

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
