Here in Tyneside and Northumberland Home Group have a large number of support services and properties, which help our many customers who all have individual and varying needs. We have a fantastic opportunities for enthusiastic Support Workers and Care Workers like you, to join our Central Resource Team (CRT). Our Team support are the €œSwiss Army Knife€ of support, we step in and help run our services when colleagues are on leave, absent through sickness or in emergency situations.

Instead of just working in 1 service, you will work with the varied teams across our region. Youll have the chance to support our customers who have a wide range of needs across a number of specialised services. One day you might be supporting a customer with personal care in our Wallsend service, the next you might be working closely with our clinicians to get the best out of a customer with complex mental health needs.

The great news is that you will never get bored, as no day is the same. That does mean that you need to be super adaptable and flexible in regards to your approach to work, as youll work wherever the business needs your support.

About our teams

Youll join our outgoing team, full of diverse characters, who are all friendly, helpful and supportive (great news for newbies!). The Team are led by Stacey, whos worked for Home Group since 2010. Stacey also started as a Support Worker, and took full advantage of all the training and experience we offer here at Home Group. She is supported (and couldnt do without) our Client Service Managers, Jodie & Steve, who balance Staceys tendency to talk, and talk, and talk€¦ (thats when shes not singing!)

Working hours

We need you to be super flexible because you could be working in any of our 25 services in the TN (Tyneside and Northumberland) area, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend doing the things that matter to you! You will be working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Although you wont have a fixed rota you will have a fixed 5 week rolling rest rota and you will be provided all shifts approximately a month in advance. So although we need you to be flexible, we aim to let you know in advance, so you can plan your life! Currently we have every other weekend off.

About you

Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.  We help change our customers lives for the better.

Youll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, their needs and aspirations. It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however its your €œcan do€ positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success.

We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!  Experience in providing physical assistance to help wash, (shower or bath) dress, toilet and other. If youre not the biggest fan of technology, thats not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However were glad to support you, if you need help.

Finally, as youll travel around the area to work in our services, it would be amazing if you drive and have access to a car (we pay your expenses to cover this use!). If you dont drive, then dont worry as most of our services are easy reached on public transport.

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
