Job Description

Full-time secondary science teacher required for a great school in the Exeter area!

Your new company
At Hays Education Exeter, we aim to recruit dedicated teachers and match them with their ideal role. We work with a number of schools across Devon, helping them with their recruitment needs, including day-to-day supply, long-term, and permanent roles. Once registered with Hays, you will be put in contact with a named dedicated recruitment consultant for secondary teaching who specialises within their field. Our approach to hiring teachers makes flexible employment an option for those with other commitments, as we tailor our service to suit your needs. Become a lifelong partner with Hays, and we will help you achieve your career goals.

Your new role
Exeter is a beautiful part of the UK, with a bustling city vibe as well as beaches within 20 minutes from the centre. A fantastic school in the area is seeking a secondary science teacher to join their well-organised and supportive science department. This position is being advertised as a full-time position starting in September, however, a part-time work pattern would also be considered for the right candidate. This role is suitable for NQTs/ECTs and qualified teachers with experience teaching science within a secondary setting who value working within a collaborative team. You will be expected to plan lessons accordingly and manage student behaviour so that effective learning can take place. You will be supported throughout this role and given the opportunity for further employment at the end of the contract if necessary.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a qualified teacher with relevant experience and subject knowledge. NQTs/ECTs hoping to gain crucial classroom experience are also welcome to apply. You must have the right to work in the UK and be able to provide the necessary documents required for our compliance process. This includes proof of ID, teaching qualifications, a recent proof of address and teaching or placement references from within the last 5 years. We can help you obtain a new DBS if necessary, which you only pay for once in a role with Hays. Flexibility in this role is desired, including the ability to adapt your teaching techniques to suit the needs of your students. Demonstrating professional conduct at all times is essential, which includes adhering to all safeguarding policies. We welcome applicants who are currently working for other agencies and can offer guaranteed contracts offering financial security.

What you'll get in return

  • Competitive rates of pay.
  • Holiday pay and pension contributions per week.
  • £250 in shopping vouchers for teachers who sign up and complete 21 days with Hays.
  • Ongoing support from consultants with extensive educational knowledge.
  • Refer-a-Friend scheme worth £250 in high street vouchers.
  • Guaranteed payment scheme.
  • Exclusive access to the Hays Education Safeguarding training free of charge.
