Client Services Manager Adult and Young People Accommodation Based Support Service, Gloucestershire

Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Salary circa £23,500

On call shift payment of £14.30 per session

We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. Youll have a genuine passion to lead our services in delivering aspirational person-centred housing related support. The successful applicant will support our two Senior Client Services Managers to manage the Adults (18+) Accommodation Based Support Service and the Young Peoples (16-24) Accommodation Based Support Service.

 

The services provide short term accommodation and housing related support in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud to vulnerable customers with complex, multiple and high level support needs.  We aim to provide high quality housing for people who are in housing need and experiencing life challenges that they need support to overcome. We are passionate about supporting customers to go on to establish and maintain an independent and positive lifestyle by empowering them to gain confidence and develop the skills required to manage their home as independently as possible. We support customers to identify long term housing options with the aim for them to move on from our accommodation to a future where they can achieve their aspirations.

 

We help our customers on their personalised support plans, which can include anything from getting into college or work, to ensuring they pay their bills on time all with the aim of moving towards independent living and getting their own place.

 

Our customers live in several buildings across Gloucestershire, in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud. This role will be based at one of our properties but there will be an expectation to travel across Gloucestershire.

 

Leading a team of frontline support staff, youll help us deliver efficient, high quality, cost effective and customer centred services. Youll help empower our customers to live independently and make it a great place to work for our colleagues.  Youll ensure the high performance and quality assurance of our services using your experience and strong skills in effectively motivating and leading colleagues. Youll also monitor service performance against contractual targets and support the Senior Client Service Managers to ensure the service is delivered according to budget.

There will be two other managers in Gloucestershire, we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too! Youll be working alongside Jana who is the Senior Client Services Manager in the Young Peoples Service.  Janas been with Homegroup for over 9 years and she will bake you a cake for your birthday! When shes not baking, shes chasing her dogs around the house to rescue her unicorn slippers. Youll also be working closely with our new Senior Client Services Manager, a role were also recruiting to who we hope will start around the same time.

 

You will also join the wider Midlands Management team which is a brilliantly, friendly and knowledgeable group of colleagues who look out for each other. We meet regularly to share knowledge, ideas and to have a good catch up on whats going on across the region. Your Manager will be Zoe whos been with us at Home Group for 12 years so she knows a thing or two about supported housing. Zoe is the Operations Manager for Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire but first joined Home Group as a Support Worker in Worcestershire. Zoe has supported customers directly and has led teams of Support Workers and Managers for many years. Zoe has a young daughter who keeps her busy outside work, as well as lots of family days out, she loves to be in the garden and get creative!

Here at Home Group we work flexibly, and the focus is on getting the job done and that means trusting each other. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

 

A bit about you

To be awesome in this job, your key strengths will lie in people management and motivation, bringing colleagues together to share information and best practice. Youll maintain strong professional relationships with your peers and their teams as well as external stakeholders. Well be impressed with your passion for promoting independence and social inclusion through person centred support, as well as your focus on quality, efficiency and your ability to develop service provision in new and innovative ways.

 

We do need you to have an excellent working knowledge of the Housing and Care and Support sectors, safeguarding processes and housing law. Youll be able to respond quickly and appropriately to emerging risks to individuals, teams or the contract and its also important that you have excellent communication skills, IT skills and strong analytical skills too. So join us and lead a team which is doing things differently and spending more time making a real difference to vulnerable peoples lives.

 

To make sure our customers are well supported, its important that you have worked in a supported housing environment before or that you are an experienced people manager. Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help you understand how things work at Home Group.

 

Wed love you to take a lead on something youre particularly passionate about, whether that be customer involvement, safeguarding, procurement or systems. We want you to love the job and make it your own!

 

As this is a leadership in the community based role, youll need to travel around to spend time with your customers and colleagues.  You will need to be able to drive and have access to a car to use during your working day (We pay your expenses to cover this use!)

 

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
