United Learning

Manchester Academy is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

The Role

We’re looking for an exceptional Assistant Vice Principal to be in charge of Pastoral support to our students across Manchester Academy School. You will help to lead on our journey of transformational change. We want to hear from talented leaders looking to extend their experience, and ambitious middle leaders seeking their first senior leadership post. You will be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people with the natural ability to inspire and motivate both pupils and peers. As an outstanding teacher and leader with demonstrable leadership experience, you will make a significant contribution to the leadership and success of our school.

You will join an enthusiastic Senior Leadership Team and have the self-confidence and abilities to inspire and lead whilst promoting a positive working environment at Manchester Academy.

We aim to have a more diverse workforce at all levels of Manchester Academy and particularly welcome applications from people of Black, Asian and Minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds.

About You

You will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status

• Evidence of continuing professional development or further professional study

• Ability to manage, motivate, support and inspire trust in others

• A secure commitment to the continuing development of areas of responsibility within the school.
