Job Description

12 week summer internship 

The Biochemistry Systems group is focused on developing new biochemistry and integrated workflows for our future sequencing platforms. You will support feasibility work on new reagents and workflows for simplified, stable sequencing kits.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Planning and performing experiments for early feasibility studies on novel reagents and workflows for next-generation sequencers

Measuring and optimizing reagents using functional and analytical tests, e.g. enzymatic assays, HPLC, etc.

Performing sequencing runs with all types of sequencers (personal, desktop, factory)

Working with other team members in San Diego and Singapore

Analyzing data and presenting results to peers and senior staff

Preferred Educational Background:

Must be in a Bachelors degree, at least in the 2nd year of the degree

Major must be Chemistry, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology

Strong communication skills

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
