Housing Management Worker

Bernard Castle, Durham

Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw), Permanent

Salary of £17,600 to £18,000 pa, pro rata, plus brilliant benefits

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers, who live in Sheltered Housing which is neither nursing nor residential care, but provides a full housing management service delivered by fully trained and experienced staff that enables them to live safely and independently in their own flat without any unnecessary rules or demands.

 

We help our customers by focussing on tenancy support. Youll support by helping them to manage their tenancy and rent accounts. Youll also support our customers with their housing benefit claims and making sure that these are received on their rent account. Youll turn around vacant bed spaces so that new customers who need our help can move in quickly. Youll also make sure our service achieves maximum occupancy, and that we are health and safety compliant!

About our team

Youll be working alongside our fabulous team, who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrate their achievements. To us were not just a team were a €œwork family€. Our manager is Karen Bell, who has been with the organisation for 6 years. You will work remotely at the service there are 16 of us in the team and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too!

Working hours

Youll be working 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday.

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid weekly!

 

About you

Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.  You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

 

As a Housing Management Worker youll support letting and re-letting rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed. Youre great at managing your own time and have strong written and verbal communication skills. 

 

If youre not the biggest fan of technology, thats not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However were glad to support you, if you need help.  

 

To make sure our customers are well supported, its important that you have worked in a supported housing environment before. Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help you to understand how things work at Home Group!

 

As this is a community based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as have access to a car insured for business purposes. Dont worry, well pay your expenses to cover this use!

 

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
