We have a fantastic opportunity for a brilliant Supported Living Worker like you to join our fab and supportive team. Our service provides support to one brilliant customer in her own home. This is Samantha

€œThere are lots of things I like to do but get 'stuck' doing one thing so need a lot of help to move to something new. I am much more willing to try something new if you make me laugh! I love to have people around me, who joke and laugh a lot. I do need time to think about what anyone has said as I need time to process it.

I LOVE cats! The only word I use is "Miaow". I am also interested in playing videogames - I love racing cars against other people in driving games. My favourite games were Tomb Raider and Resident Evil as I enjoy adventure/puzzle games. I LOVE anything to do with America! I need someone to travel with me and can't wait to fly again as I love the whole airport experience. I LOVE 80s music and my favourite colour is Blue! I like to stay at Alnwick Castle as I love haunted and spooky things - Halloween is my favourite time of year! I do like my own space, but can easily say, when I wish to be left alone. Although I don't enjoy being outside, I do know if you do go out sometimes to find something really exciting and I'm glad I did. I'm capable of so much but need a lot of support to achieve things and experience different things.€

Sam lives in an amazing newly refurbished bungalow to meet her needs and aspirations. Youll support Samantha to live her day to day life as independently as possible. You will be a part of the wider €œEdendale House€ team. The team will tell you that no two days are ever the same because everything we do is €œperson centred€ around our customers. You might help with personal care (like bathing and issuing medication) in the morning and going out for lunch in the afternoon. We even help customers to go on holiday! Like our team, were sure youll find the role ever so rewarding.

About our team

Our team describe themselves as really friendly and approachable. In fact when new members have joined us, its been said that they felt welcomed from day one! You really want to join a team that is as fab and team spirited as ours! Were also super passionate about supporting customers and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team were a €œwork family€.

Our managers are Rachel Nicholson (Senior Manager), who has worked for Home Group for over 6 years, and Emma Dixon (Service Manager), who joined us 2 year ago. There are 20 of us in the team and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too! We are a fun loving team well known across the organisation for always having an impressive amount of cakes and treats in the office.

Working hours

We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. Youll work on a rota basis and take your turn working days, sleep in shifts, weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend it on doing the things that matter to you!

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

About you

Youre passionate and motivated. To you providing care and support is more than just a job, you make every customer feel valued and respected. Youre compassionate, and use your unique empathy and creativity skills to help our customers reach their full potential. Treating your customers with integrity, you ensure that they maintain their dignity at all times. 

We help our customers to achieve their potential, long term goals and to live their best life. Youll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans. Youll work with our Senior Support Workers and external agencies to support our customers. You can see what its like to work in a service like this in our great video. If youre not the biggest fan of technology, thats not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However were glad to support you, if you need help. 

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however its your €œcan do€ positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
