Mental Health Support Worker

East Ipswich, Suffolk

Permanent, Part Time 17 hpw

Salary £17,600 to £18,000 pa, plus brilliant benefits

Sleep in shifts of £35.00

From £9.00 per hour if youd prefer to work on a casual basis

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers, who have a diagnosis of severe and enduring mental health conditions such as Schizophrenia, Anxiety, Depression, Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorders and others. Our customers may also have substance misuse issues and/or a mild learning disability. They live in a supported housing service.

 

We help our customers to learn or regain daily living skills such as budgeting, managing a tenancy and their homes, caring for themselves, accessing education, training and voluntary opportunities, supporting to maintain their mental health and well-being, supporting to appointments and social activities either within the service/organisation or in the community. We support customers to gain the skills they want and need to be ready to move on into the community/ be able to remain in their homes.

About our team

Youll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements.  To us were not just a team were a €œwork family€. Our manager is Debbie, who has worked for Home Group for four years.  There are 8 of us in the team and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too! Jackie, Tom, Lisa and Hannah are a few of the team who have many years of experience working with our customer group and can't wait to share the wealth of knowledge they have with you.

 

Working hours 

We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. Youll work on a rota basis and take your turn working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend it doing the things that matter to you!

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

 

About you

Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

 

We help change our customers lives for the better. Youll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. Youll work with our Senior Support Workers and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together well make a difference!

 

If youre not the biggest fan of technology, thats not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However were glad to support you, if you need help.

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
