Land and Planning Development Manager

Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Starting salary circa £33,500 to £45,000 pa (depending on experience) rising up to £60,000 pa through achievement to Senior Development Manager via our career progression pathways

We have an exciting opportunity for a brilliant Development Manager to join us in identifying, winning and progressing new land and development opportunities for the Yorkshire region.  You'll be supporting us in our strategic priority to build the right homes in the right places for our customers.  Youll be joining our award winning team who are recent winners of the Most Innovative Building Project for our Gateshead Innovation Village at the BI Awards 2019, Development Programme of the Year 2018 and finalists 2019 at the Inside Housing Awards. 

 

Youll be sourcing land, development and partnering opportunities with a focus on identifying mixed tenure opportunities to deliver new affordable and private sale homes across the Yorkshire region.  You'll lead exciting projects, from identification through concept design, planning submission and the completion of legal agreements, ensuring an effective handover of a deliverable scheme to our Delivery colleagues.  

 

Youll be working for Amber, our Head of Development - North East & Yorkshire who is passionate about the combined strength of collaborative working, creating well designed, successful mixed tenure residential developments which generate value and benefit local communities.  Amber recently celebrated her 17th work anniversary with us.

A bit about you

We are looking for a land, planning or development manager who has a passion and drive to win new business, well networked and connected with a range of private and public sector partners.  Youll ideally have a Chartered RICS qualification or other professional qualification in planning, urban design, surveying, building, or a related field.  Youll really impress us with your knowledge of the commercial aspects and development pressures relating to housing developments in the region, along with the key planning challenges for the housing sector.  

Youll have a track record with another housebuilder, developer, consultancy or housing association and of working with local authorities as well as the statutory planning system to deliver projects.  We need you to travel to sites so you need to be able to drive with access to a vehicle insured for business purposes.
