Year 2 Teaching job in Central Wakefield Primary School

Hays Education is the market leading agency across the West Yorkshire area, and we are currently recruiting an experienced Key Stage 1 Teacher to work in a Central Wakefield Primary School.

This friendly and welcoming primary school in the WF1 area is currently looking for a Year 2 Teacher to join their team. You will be joining a team of strong and supportive staff members dedicated to providing a curriculum that prepares children for their next stage. This School is a 1 form entry school, which has a high focus on creating a positive environment for pupils to work in, that is both supportive and inclusive.

As a Key Stage 1 Teacher, you will be required to take full responsibility for planning, teaching, and delivering lessons to Year 2 pupils.

You will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team working alongside teaching assistants to provide the highest teaching standards for pupils for them to develop and grow in preparation for their SATS.

In your role as a Key Stage 1 Teacher, you will also need to monitor, track and mark the progress of the pupils within your classes. Starting in September, you will be working 5 days a week. This is to cover maternity leave until Easter. You will receive the occasional support of a KS1 specialist teaching assistant. You will be allocated 1/2 a day per week PPA release time.

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Classroom Teaching experience within the last 5 years
  • Experience within EYFS/KS1 is desirable
  • Hold a UK Qualified Teacher Status
  • Good Knowledge of the English National Curriculum
