Senior Support Worker
Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)
Salary starts at £17,600 to £19,100 per annum rising to £23,500 per annum through performance plus on call

We have a great opportunity for you to join our awesome team, supporting our brilliant customers who are vulnerable young people with a variety of needs. They are aspiring but also very energetic, keeping us on our toes!

They live in two purpose built blocks of flats in Gloucester. We support our customers to live independently, keeping themselves safe and encourage them to take opportunities to grow. This might mean going with them to appointments, supporting them to understand house rules and Universal Credit. Every day is different and we regularly encounter new challenges to solve.

About our team
Youll be working alongside our amazing team who are passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements.  Our manager is Jana, who has been with Home Group for over 9 years. She loves to bake and regularly supplies our team with cakes and baked goods (keep us a slice!).  There will be 4 of us in the team when you join us, and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too!
 
Working hours
Youll work on a rota basis between the hours of 7.45am until 8.15pm and take your turn working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

As Lead Support Worker you will manage a caseload of customers, working closely with external agencies and our amazing team of Support Workers in delivering person centred support.  We know that one size doesnt fit all, so our customers lead their own support every step of the way.   Together you will really make a difference, empowering our customers to achieve their goals and aspirations as outlined in their support plans and develop the independent living skills they need to successfully move on with a positive future.

You will help shape our services, undertake risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.  Its really important to us that you have time to what you are really passionate about; making a real difference to our customers lives.  So to free up your time, youll be given the latest IT kit, which could include a Surface Pro tablet and smart phone, supported by our new online integrated IT system.  Youll also be paid between clients visit and for your mileage too. 
 
About you
We want people like you, who strongly believe that providing support is more than just a job and can make every customers feel valued. To flourish in the role, you will be a like-minded dedicated person who can demonstrate compassion, empathy and creativity in your approach and use your unique skills in enabling customers to reach their full potential.  With previous experience of working with vulnerable people in a support or care environment, you will have a great understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding, risk assessment, confidentiality and be experienced in case management.  Its also important that you can work in holistic way building partnerships with external agencies and that you have strong IT skills too.

If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which well pay for.
