We have a fantastic opportunity for a Development Manager to join us in identifying and winning new development opportunities for your region, supporting us in our strategic priority to build 10,000 new homes over the next five years. Youll be sourcing land, development and leading on partnering with a focus on identifying mixed tenure opportunities to deliver new affordable and private sale homes. You'll lead projects from identification up to concept design stage including planning submission and the completion of legal agreements. Youll work collaboratively to ensure an effective handover to delivery colleagues.

Youll be reporting to Mark our Head of Development who spends his time working across both the North East and Yorkshire regions. Hes a keen Newcastle United fan who can be a bit grumpy on a Monday morning if Newcastle havent won on a Saturday. But great news, if they win, hes buying team donuts! (Make sure you keep us one Mark!

A bit about you
With a passion and drive to win new business, youll be well networked and connected with a range of private and public sector partners. Youll have a professional qualification in planning, urban design, surveying, building, or a related field along with previous experience with another housebuilder, developer, consultancy or housing association. Youll really impress us with your knowledge of the commercial aspects and development pressures relating to housing developments in the region, along with the key planning challenges for the housing sector. Youll have a track record of working with local authorities and the statutory planning system to deliver projects.

We need you to travel to sites so you need to be able to drive with access to a vehicle insured for business purposes.
