    Regional Segment Marketing Manager EMEA - Genetic Disease Testing

    The convergence of utility, access, price, and technology have made genomics a key component of testing for genetic disorders. Illuminas next generation sequencing technology has been foundational and is revolutionizing the way rare diseases are being diagnosed. As the utility of the genome is better understood, this market will continue to grow in importance.

    As the EMEA Segment Marketing Manager for Genetic Disease Testing, you will be responsible for developing and executing a regional strategy to address this market opportunity and drive successful adoption of Illumina technology in the markets. The successful candidate will be accountable for the success of the segment regionally.

    The candidate will work cross-functionally with the EMEA sales and regional marketing teams and with global marketing to capture and provide feedback on new market trends, insights and opportunities related to this market.

    The role reports to the Associate Director, Clinical Segment Marketing EMEA.

    Tasks and Responsibilities:
        Decide on suitable strategies and objectives and assume responsibility by developing and controlling activities, deadlines and budgets
        Understand competitive landscape, market drivers and trends likely to influence adoption within this segment
        Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI and prepare reports for internal stakeholders
        When required, develop and maintain strong customer connections at various levels in private and academic organizations
        Support the development of business plans around new segment applications.
        Demonstrate command of scientific and technical knowledge on all illuminas solutions (Arrays and NGS)
        Deep understanding of the IVD and data protection directives and regulations in EMEA
        Identify opportunities for the development of new marketing and commercial collateral and tools (Application Notes, VOC, White papers, Customer testimonials videos and articles)
        Maintain a collaborative and open working relationship with internal, cross-functional colleagues.

    Preferred Educational Background:
        Bachelors degree or greater in Life Sciences

    Preferred Experiential Background:
        Experience in Life Sciences / Genomics or Clinical field, with experience in Marketing,
        Proven program management experience in the life science business
        Proven ability to network at all levels within the customer organizations and in the broader marketplace
        Self-motivated and self-directed individual who enjoys a challenging, relatively unstructured and dynamic work environment
        Provide thought leadership in pursuing new and/or unconventional approaches to solve customer challenges, empowering and inspiring others to think and approach challenges in innovative ways
        Demonstrated experience in successfully presenting complex concepts at all levels of an organization
        Experience in developing customer targets and product positioning and messaging across multiple regional markets
        Ability to objectively and critically analyze market and customer dynamics to uncover deep, meaningful insights
        Identify change opportunities and develop clear and concise action plans to gain stakeholder commitment and increase followership
        Ability to influence people and diverse stakeholder groups within a global, matrixed organization
