Job Description

The Mayor of London has exciting plans for the Culture and the Creative Industries sector. This is a great opportunity to be part of a passionate team, delivering a wide variety of projects, shaping the cultural agenda for London helping the creative workforce to thrive. This role will focus on protecting and growing Londons cultural infrastructure, including music venues, community assets, theatres, artist studios, pubs, LGBT+ spaces, night clubs and heritage buildings.

You will carry out casework on a range of culture at risk cases. This will involve research, mediation and problem solving as well as production of resources and guidance. You will develop relationships with a range of stakeholders including local authority planning, licensing, regeneration and culture teams, community and voluntary organisations, businesses, other GLA teams, TfL and the Police. You will work with artists, venue managers, developers, voluntary groups, campaigns and agencies including Historic England, the Theatres Trust and the Music Venue Trust. 

You will have very strong organisational and communications skills and be able to work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure political environment. You will have a sound working knowledge of local government structures and functions in London preferably including experience of working with planning and licensing systems. You will have experience producing clear and concise reports, briefings, analysis and recommendations.
