Housing Concierge
St Bedes House, Gateshead
Permanent, Full time (37.5 hpw)
Salary of £17110 pa

We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers who are adults experiencing homelessness and poor mental health. They live in a St Bedes House, which is supported housing containing 16 units of accommodation as well as dispersed properties in the community.

We help our customers by supporting them to settle into their home and integrate within their community, focusing on supporting them to develop the skills to enable them to sustain their tenancy.  We support customers to positively move on into their own, permanent accommodation and work in partnership to find solutions for chaotic and chronically excluded customers. This is a partnership approach which brings together statutory agencies, housing and health.

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our manager is Steph who has been with Home Group for 9 years. There are 8 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! We often say that Working at St Bedes House could be compared to winning the postcode lottery as you will be working with one of the most awesome teams in the area! We are an extremely energetic and caring team and were looking for someone like you to join us. You’ll be working alongside the awesome Angie, Jayde, Chrissie, Lyndsey and Judeth. As well as Squirrels and foxes who like to visit us from the nearby woodland surroundings.

Working hours
You’ll work on a rota basis between the hours of 8pm and 8am and take your turn working four days on and four days off. Predominately working during the twilight hours doing waking nights work. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank.  You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

About you
As our Housing Concierge you’ll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our services.  You will ensure the safety and securing of our buildings and of our customers, and make sure we get on with our neighbours!
You’ll get involved in lots of different activities which will include monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to.  As our housing support Concierge you’ll also provide out of hours cover being the first point of contact for our clients during the night and at times we’ll also need you to do some general cleaning duties too.

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative.

To make sure our customers are well supported, it’s important that you have worked with vulnerable adults. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which we’ll pay for.
