Job Description

Domestic Violence Support Worker

Your new company:
They are a domestic abuse charity and are committed to putting a stop to domestic violence and abuse. It is a small and supportive team that value reflective and critical thinking. They have a new service collaborating with survivors and stakeholders, to support individuals who have also experienced sexual violence. This provides the opportunity for individuals to receive specialist support through sexual violence counselling and one-to-one sexual violence support. They recognise that a person's recovery from sexual abuse does not end with formal support and want to ensure support continues as part of their community.

Your new role:
We are looking for Domestic Violence Support Workers with great organisational skills to provide support to survivors of sexual abuse in the Neath area. We want to ensure that the individuals we support can be with others in a non-judgemental and supportive environment. In this role you would be responsible for organising opportunities for survivors to meet each other and provide support, as well as producing a timetable that is varied to allow a range of support. You will need to ensure that all spaces are trauma-informed environments, events are inclusive and target the barriers survivors face. You will also help to ensure a smooth transition into other services. Working hours consist of 9-5 Monday to Friday, with on-call twice a month.

What you will need to succeed:
They need someone who thrives when people come together as a community. A minimum of one year experience supporting survivors of sexual violence is essential for this role or experience of writing risk assessments and care plans. This would include experience of building rapport with survivors of abuse and knowledge of the impact of sexual violence and trauma. You will need great verbal and written communication skills and competency in information technology and software. Driving is essential for this role.

What you will get in return:

  • Weekly pay
  • An internal payroll system with no umbrella companies and hidden costs/ additional charges
  • A friendly, supportive office team is available 24/7 with our on-call system.
  • Career progression
  • Referral bonuses
  • Free training
  • Free DBS
  • Flexible working
  • Holiday pay
