Job Description

Senior Residential Social Care Worker

You will be working with service users who have mental health and learning difficulties. You will need to combine your professional experience and skills to work with young people to work with them on a day-to-day basis and to promote their independence.

You will need to be confident in working with children and young people and have a genuine desire to support the work of the permanent members of staff. If you are working at the service, you will be expected to develop a strong and lasting relationship with the service users. It is vital to encourage the service users and prompt them when necessary. You will be required to complete daily records, including service user portfolios, logbooks, and behaviour monitoring forms.

To be considered for this role, it is essential you:

  • Hold your Level 3 in children, young people and families or equivalent.
  • Have the ability to motivate, supervise and appraise staff, ensuring training and development needs are met.
  • Understanding of the children Act 2004.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have experience working with children in a residential setting or supported living with young people with learning difficulties, ASD, challenging behaviour, and mental health.


  • The role is 37.5 hours, and it offers a 25% enhanced rate on weekends.
