You will be working with service users who have mental health and learning difficulties. You will need to combine your professional experience and skills to work with young people to work with them on a day-to-day basis and to promote their independence.
You will need to be confident in working with children and young people and have a genuine desire to support the work of the permanent members of staff. If you are working at the service, you will be expected to develop a strong and lasting relationship with the service users. It is vital to encourage the service users and prompt them when necessary. You will be required to complete daily records, including service user portfolios, logbooks, and behaviour monitoring forms.
