Job Description

The Professional Development Coordinators provide effective and efficient administrative support for University-wide staff development events, administering and co-ordinating elements of the Professional Development Programme and tailored development sessions.  The successful applicant will work closely with colleagues in the Human Resources department and with staff at all levels across the University to identify the development needs in the light of University and sector requirements. They will also take a lead in the administering and recording of the University's appraisal and probationary schemes and ensuring compliance with mandatory e-learning and face-to-face training.

A flexible, proactive team member with a customer-centred approach, and a positive and helpful attitude, the post holder will liaise closely with staff attending development activities, taking bookings and confirming arrangements in writing in a timely and accurate manner. With excellent time management and organisational skills, the post holder will also liaise with internal and external trainers, arranging dates with consideration to the academic timetable and most appropriate timing of sessions. The ability to learn new IT databases is essential as you will be working extensively with iTrent, the University's HR database.
