We have a fantastic opportunity within Sedgefield Homestay for an enthusiastic and caring Support Worker like you to join our service which provides support to vulnerable adults within the community. Whilst you will be based in our Durham Office you will be required to travel to our drop in venues across the Sedgefield Homestay patch including; Newton Aycliffe, Spennymoor, Shildon, Chilton, Ferryhill and Fishburn.
As an experienced Support Worker youâll help change lives for the better by assisting in delivering identified tasks based upon customersâ individual needs and aspirations, as identified within their personal support plans. Youâll liaise with external agencies and work closely with our Support Co-ordinators in assessing and engaging support for our customers. Together you will really make a difference, empowering our customers to develop the independent living skills they need to successfully move on with a positive future. Itâs really important to us that you have time to what you are really care about; changing clients lives for the better. So to free up your time, youâll be given the latest IT kit, which could include a Surface Pro tablet and smart phone, supported by our new online integrated IT system which means that you donât have to be in the office as you can complete support plans on the go. Youâll also be paid between clients visit and for your mileage too.

A bit about you
We want someone like you, with the passion and motivation for helping vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. To flourish in the role, youâll have a practical understanding of safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality and support plans. Youâll be great at managing your own time, working on your own initiative, have strong communication skills and be able to positively influence people from all different backgrounds. Itâs important to us that you have the compassion and empathy to work with vulnerable people in a housing related social care setting and we do need you to also have good IT skills too.
Weâll be impressed if you have knowledge of this sector, our customer group and experience of working with hard to reach customers, but donât worry as weâll also develop your skills in this too.
We need you to have a driving licence, car and car insurance business cover as some travelling will be required.
If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which weâll pay for.
