The Forestry Commission is seeking someone with proven rural estate management experience to join their land agent team in North England.
The Forestry Commission is the government department responsible for protecting, expanding and promoting the sustainable management of woodlands and increasing their value to society and the environment.
North England Forest District is the largest in England, covering some ha. It produces about 600,000 tonnes of timber and attracts over one million visits per annum. The District has over 140 properties including houses, farms, operational, and commercial properties together with the Forest Centres at Grizedale, Kielder, Hamsterley, Whinlatter and Gisburn.
The Forestry Commission has ambitious targets to reduce energy consumption and carbon production and is rolling out a number of renewable projects including Hydro and solar across the Districts.
