Job Description

Bristol, Birmingham (Black Country) or London Competitive Salary Shaw Trust Group is a top 25 national charity that works to create brighter futures for the people and communities we serve. With a turnover of £250m and 3,500 dedicated staff, we are proud to transform the lives of disabled and disadvantaged people throughout the UK, helping them to live independent and inclusive lives through the provision of employment opportunities, skills development, training and health and well-being services. Operating charitable social enterprises, retail shops and a diverse chain of academy schools, we are growing through acquisition, determined to expand and diversify our portfolio to transform the lives of 1 million children and adults annually by 2022. Our new Chief Digital Information Officer will play a critical role in enabling this, defining and delivering a vision for digital, data and technology across the Group that will underpin business operations and change whilst enabling, innovating and maximising efficiency. We are looking for a high calibre individual who will be able to make a strong contribution to the overall leadership of the Trust during a period of significant growth and change. Whilst playing a key supporting role in integrating newly acquired organisations, you will be required to collaborate and partner with colleagues throughout our diverse organisation to deliver a digital ecosystem in support of the business and our clients. Your ability to build a high-performance team and establish first class working relationships with external partners will play a critical role in enabling us to achieve our ambitious plans, whilst ensuring that all those with whom we engage experience an optimum user experience. A transformative strategic thinker and customer focused change agent, you will bring experience of having performed a similar role in an analogous organisation, ideally with experience of supporting high value government contracts through sector leading technology provision. Intellectually capable and commercially focused, you will have delivered clear return from investment in digital, data and technology strategies and will also bring first class delivery credentials, with prior experience of having defined and successfully delivered complex programmes of work and maximised the potential of emerging technologies. Above all, you must be a credible, inspiring and pragmatic technology leader with a developmental style and an aptitude for sharing and embedding best practice, to ensure that we maintain financial, legal, data and technology compliance whilst embracing opportunities to innovate. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the people we work with; the most disabled and disadvantaged in the UK. The successful appointee will play a key role in enabling us to think creatively and laterally about the configuration of the services we provide and how we can work effectively and efficiently to maximise our reach and impact.
