Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to be part of a new integrated service as a Group Coordinator.
You will need to coordinate, organise and facilitate the successful and safe provision of services delivered in a group setting across Leicester City and Leicestershire County, but your main office base will be in Leicester Forest East.
Group activities can inform, educate, support and provide structured activities with identified outcomes for attendees in a group setting.
As part of this role you will also be required to facilitate our Carers Information Programme (CrISP) where carers are able to share their experiences and find out about local services that may help. CrISP aims to improve the knowledge, skills and understanding of people living with dementia. On occasions you may also be required to work outside of your normal working hours.
About you
You will need to possess NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
Excellent communication skills are a must, along with good organisation skills and good IT skills.
You will also need experience in a care or support environment, experience of co-ordinating volunteers and experience of conflict resolution In addition, an understanding dementia and of the needs of people living with dementia and their carers is essential.
