Job Description

Assistant/Press officer: TUC grade 6 £38,787 grade 8 £50,590 including London weighting, depending on skills/experience Permanent, 35 hours per week (open to job share) Based in Congress House, London WC1B 3LS Can you inspire others to help us change the world of work for good? The TUC is looking for a brilliant press officer or assistant press officer to raise the profile of the TUC and our campaign priorities in the national media. Were looking for a bright, talented new colleague whos able to get their head round our issues quickly and is committed to making work better for everyone. Youll have experience in a busy press office or newsroom. Your writing whether its a short quote or a longer blog - will be outstanding. Most of all, youll be able to spot a news angle and respond fast to breaking events. Youll be joining a media team that secures huge media coverage for our priorities every year, and supports our general secretary Frances OGrady to put working people at the heart of the political debate. The union movement is changing: this role will put you at the heart of it.
