Job Description

The Support and Information Zone (SIZ) provides a high quality enquiry handling and reception service or 'one-stop-shop' for students, staff and visitors to the University of Chichester.  We are now recruiting for a part-time Service Advisor to join our successful teams, the post will be based at both the Bognor Regis Campus and Bishop Otter Chichester Campus. Working in a customer services role, dealing with internal and external contacts, you will take responsibility for answering queries and resolving issues relating to a broad range of topics such as where to find departments and subject areas; how to access various student support facilities; registration and admissions information; IT related enquiries such as unlocking computer accounts and re-setting passwords and how to access electronic books, journals and databases.   The SIZ requires someone with a welcoming, and pro-active problem solving approach who can act as a key contact with Professional Service teams.  You will be willing to engage in appropriate training and development to ensure the highest level of customer service.  The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills along with proven experience of delivering first line customer service and support in a complex environment. Experience or demonstrable skills in first line IT support is essential for this post, as is the ability to appreciate issues from a service user's perspective, and an empathetic and empowering approach to others.  This post will require the successful candidate to work on the part-time shift patterns detailed alongside the Job Profile on our website, and due to the complex rota patterns within the Department applicants must be able to undertake the full shift pattern in its entirety.
