Welsh Congress decides policy and elects a General Council to oversee the delivery of that policy through the Wales TUC General Secretary and his staff. Our aim is to make Wales a fair work nation. Wales TUC Policy Officer Job Ref: OSD.31.17 Grade 7 £39,304 per annum rising incrementally to £40,893 Permanent 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday Based in Cardiff CF11 9SD This exciting and varied role includes policy development & research, supporting policy implementation and some media work. The post holder will assist the Wales TUC General Secretary on Welsh devolved policy and activity including; supporting the Welsh Congress and Wales TUC General Council, co-ordinating union engagement in social partnership arrangements, drafting Wales TUC input to Welsh government consultations and producing briefings for Welsh Ministers, Assembly Members, civil servants, unions and the public. We are therefore looking for someone who meets the following criteria: Demonstrable experience of policy development in areas devolved to the Welsh Government and National Assembly of Wales Knowledge and understanding of the economic, social, political and trade union context of Wales Commitment to the aims and values of trades unions and the Wales TUC A positive, proactive and flexible team member with excellent organisation, planning and time management skills Welsh language skills or the willingness to learn If you feel this is the job for you, wed like to hear from you.
