Job Description

Investigations Executive fixed term contract up to 12 months Salary: 33,124 Start date: Jan/Feb 18 The Advertising Standards Authority is the independent, self-regulatory body for advertising in the UK and works to ensure that advertisements are legal, decent, honest and truthful. Our work includes acting on and investigating complaints as well as proactively monitoring and taking action against misleading, harmful or offensive advertisements, sales promotions and direct marketing. We?re seeking candidates who are enthusiastic about playing a part in ensuring that ads don?t cause harm, offend or mislead those who see them, particularly vulnerable individuals and groups within our society. You will be responsible for carrying out high quality and customer-focussed investigations that cover a wide range of issues in TV, radio, print, poster and online ads, including those relating to sensitive and high profile areas such as gambling, alcohol, the depiction of women and advertising to children. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to consider information in a thoughtful, thorough and unbiased manner and to present their assessment of an ad?s likely compliance with the Advertising Codes both orally and in writing to senior colleagues, advertisers, complainants and the ASA Council. In a community where sharing knowledge and ideas is valued, the successful candidate will be expected to learn quickly, work autonomously and find creative solutions to problems. They must also have an ability to collaborate effectively and develop strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders alike.
