Job Description

For people with learning disabilities and their families Hourly rate: 11.18 Hours: 3.5-12hrs per week, alternate Wednesday and Friday evenings, and every Saturday afternoon Centre 404 is a well-established charity with an excellent reputation for providing high quality support and services to people with learning disabilities and their families in North London. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals to support young people and adults to take part in fun and exciting activities; develop their interests and skills; and access community facilities. Senior Support Workers are responsible for the delivery of a programme of activities, aimed at supporting people to develop their social connections; improve their health and wellbeing; and to feel safer and more confident in their local communities. Sessions are delivered both in our centre and in the local community, such as leisure centres and parks. We are looking for a Senior Support Worker for three of these groups. The same person could apply for an individual group or a combination of the three: - Warm and Welcome Wednesdays (alternate Wednesdays) 4.5 hrs - Friday Night Social (alternate Fridays) 3.5 hrs - Out & About (every Saturday) 4.5 hrs We welcome applications from Support Workers who have experience of working with diverse client groups. Previous experience at a Senior Support Worker level is not essential as full training and induction will be provided. Therefore, if you have an enthusiastic attitude, a willingness to learn and develop new skills, and the ability to work positively on your own and as part of a team, we will be interested in hearing from you. This role is ideal for anyone looking for a stepping stone to progress their career within social care, with the aim of developing further knowledge and abilities in care management.
