Deputy Manager - Wirral, Greasby - Permanent - Children's residential service

Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted rated "Good" 2 bedroom children's Learning Disabilities service in the Wirral area as they require a motivated and reliable deputy manager. This is a full-time 39-hour contract with full training and DBS provided. This provider will take someone looking to step up to a deputy position.
Your new role
In your new role as a deputy manager of a 2 bedroom LD service you will work alongside the registered manager to ensure a smooth day-to-day running of the service. You will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of exceptional care services by leading by example, managing the team, completing service/care reviews, and training . You will have the full support of the management team including an experienced registered manager and responsible individual. The service currently has two young people one of which is 14, the other is 17 and due to move on in January. Both service users for different levels of learning disabilities, so a person centred approach is paramount as to ensure that they are treated as the individuals they are and to build a strong constructive relationship. Due to their needs, personal care is required and other duties will include but may not be limited to administering medication, meal preparation & feeding, access to education, promoting independence, and building self-esteem.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful with your application you need full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 2 years referenceable experience supporting young people in a senior/managerial role in the last 5 years, other requirements consist of:

  • An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in children and young people's health and social care
  • Be willing to work towards a Level 4 or equivalent qualification in children and young people's health and social care
  • The ability to take a person centred approach to care
