Job Description

In 2016 Nottingham City council won the "council of the year" award for the second time ~ the first council to do so. A big part of the success is our almost 8,000 staff, who all come from a variety of backgrounds. We are a good place to work, with award winning practices. This also means we are a good place to come from with this vacancy coming about as the postholder moves into a new role. One of our ways of working is to attract funding from external sources to help provide and improve services for Citizens. This includes improving the business environment creating good jobs for our citizens. Recently we have done well with attracting such including the funding (from the European Regional Infrastructure Fund (ERDF)) for this post which runs until the end of March 2019. The position has a starting salary is £31,601 rising to £33,437 after a year, subject to the satisfactory completion of a probation period. This position is one of two we currently have vacant in the team coordinating the ERDF projects (we expect to have some more in the next few months). The other is the Project Coordinator (ERDF) - Biodiversity Infrastructure Improvement position. Both are open for applicants. The Project role The Growth Hub Project and Finance Coordinator role is to ensure that the processes, finances, and administration used, in the ERDF D2N2 Growth Hub project (www.D2N2growthhub.co.uk), by Nottingham City Council and partners, comply with ERDF and City Council regulations. The Growth Hub helps businesses grow through initial and in depth business support, signposting to other sources of help. The role is based at Loxley House in Nottingham with some travel for meetings or to support events. We are looking for someone who: - Has delivered the administration, and monitored the finances for multi partner projects, ensuring compliance with project rules, governance and funding body procedures - Is at home with keeping spreadsheet based straightforward budgets up to date - Puts together clear reports for partners and board members helping them to make good decisions - Has good stakeholder and partnership skills, supporting high quality work This role is located in a team of staff working on other ERDF projects, providing support to ensure that the highest possible standards are in place. Most days are in Loxley House but there is some travel to partners and events in the D2N2 area. This post is a readvertisement.
