Job Description

Non-Remunerated, approximately 10 days per year We are one of the leading work based learning providers in England and Wales. Currently working with over 3000 businesses, we train more apprentices than anyone else in the building services engineering sector. Over 6,500 young people are supported by us across electrical, plumbing, heating and ventilating and engineering maintenance disciplines. Our apprentices achieve more ? because we only take on the best and as a registered charity, every penny we receive goes into the training we offer. We believe that our work builds futures and changes lives and our immediate aspirations are to have 10,000 young people in learning, increase the number of JTL centres and continue to improve our market share. We have a highly effective senior leadership team and board, however, with our current Chair?s term coming to an end, we need the right non-executive leadership to help us realise our goals. We currently have two members from Unite the Union and the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) and independent Trustees and as Chair you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective governance of the organisation. You will bring a strong network across relevant areas and know how to successfully navigate your way across Whitehall, working effectively with some of our key partners and stakeholders. Possessing a clear appreciation of what good governance looks like; you will bring a strong track record of operating as a non-executive, and ideally have some Chair experience. Your ambition and drive to work with us to achieve our aspirations as well as your resilience and leadership credentials will set you apart. These are exciting times for us as an organisation as we continue to build on the positive steps that we have taken over the last couple of years. Further information is available at www.LeadingJTL.com For an informal confidential discussion about the role please contact Michael Dobson on 0207 426 3968, Adam Davidson on 0207 426 3964, or Simon Wing on 0207 426 3976. Applications (CV and supporting letter) should be submitted via the website above. Closing date for applications: Monday 21st August 2017
